Rohit Kalra is the founder and CEO of Kalra CPA & Associates, PC, a Certified Public Accounting firm based in Fairfax, Virginia. Rohit has twenty years of experience advising business owners in multiple areas including strategy, finance, accounting, taxation, and marketing. At Kalra CPA & Associates, Rohit concentrates his practice on consulting, tax planning, and tax controversy services for businesses and individuals. Rohit specializes in representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service and solving complex tax problems.
Before entering private practice twelve years ago, Rohit’s prior experience included serving private companies and private equity firms at PricewaterhouseCoopers. At PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rohit also worked in the Personal Financial Services practice where he focused on providing financial planning, tax planning, and wealth management services to high-net-worth individuals and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. While in the Personal Financial Services practice, Rohit’s work was published in the area of investments and retirement planning.
Prior to PricewaterhouseCoopers, Rohit worked in corporate accounting/finance at a privately-held government contracting firm where he focused on providing controller services to support critical accounting functions involved in complex government contracts. He also worked at a management consulting firm where he specialized in providing research and strategy consulting services to private equity firms, private companies, and corporate executives.
Rohit is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the state of Virginia and is licensed to practice before the IRS. Rohit is also a Certified Tax Resolution Specialist and a Certified Tax Representation Consultant. Rohit holds a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Virginia and holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Information Systems from George Mason University. While a graduate student, Rohit also taught management accounting and financial accounting in the business school at the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
In his free time, Rohit’s favorite activity is spending time with his wife and two sons. Rohit’s hobbies include studying and reading about the tax law, business, marketing, and investments. Rohit lives in Fairfax, Virginia where Rohit is a lifelong resident.
